Description

The Kingdom of Arista was once a wealthy nation full of bustling trade and races from all across the land. Her capital, the Jewel of Arista, was the City of Aroa. Built entirely from rare materials across the world, Aroa was a grand sight to behold. Many would cross miles to walk her gem adorned streets, and even steal a handful of the city's walls when the guard's weren't looking, for a handful could be worth a fortune back home. The city itself was a grand trading post, constantly filled with noisy merchants and people coming to see their wares.

Such was Aroa's prosperity, until the Necroma Phenomenom descended.

During a usual day at the market, a massive green cloud erupted in the middle of the district and billowed out through the city. Everything it touch decayed and died. The cloud spread faster then the city's panic, and after a few hours Aroa fell silent. The cloud continued it's belligerent progress, and within a few days all contact with Arista was lost.

No one knows how or why the Necroma Phenomenom happened, but it's effects were nothing short of horrifying. The land of Arista became shrouded by a thick green smog that seems to be the residue of the plague. Though not poisonous, the smog hampers breathing after spending too long in it without a breathing apparatus. It's thickness also shrouds the vision, and shadows of things shifting about in the distance can be made out from time to time, proving that Aroa is still populated - but by what?
Even with all the dark mysteries surrounding the downfall of Aroa, heroes and adventurers alike have ventured into the land of Arista with the hopes of returning with the wealth and treasures that Aroa once possessed. However, not many have returned. Those that do speak of the dead walking, ghosts whispering curses, and monstrosities so horrific that men wilt in fear by their mere silhoulette.
One story came from the sole survivor of a band that made it to Aroa herself. Through his trembling words, he speaks of a horror created from the many who died fleeing Aroa, their corpses piled and melted together at the entrance to the city. Where the Gate of Aroa once stood, now stands another....thing, and it devours those who attempt to enter the city. His story concludes with a glazed look in his eyes as he mumbles, "the Flesh tree.....the Flesh tree...."
